My name is Kaydee Hankes. I began drawing more than a decade ago and have never been able to stay away from pencils and paints for long. I love recreating the beauty and bizarreness found in nature. I have a particular affinity for insects, reptiles, and amphibians simply because they can be so unique and alien-looking. Human hands and faces have always captured my attention as well. My approach in drawing or painting is generally realistic, though I also enjoy playing with color schemes and adding a dash of fantasy into my artwork.

Being homeschooled throughout my childhood and teenage years, I had the oppurtunity to focus my time on what I enjoyed doing -- drawing, painting, and writing. I am currently attending Austin Peay State University, seeking a major in the art field. I have not quite settled down into any particular medium -- though drawing with pencils comes most naturally. I am, in fact, looking into the field of computer animation, since it adds a whole new dimension to the lifelike quality a piece of art can have. (Any advice about this career choice or college suggestions is more than welcome. Feel free to contact me at Kaydeelane@live.com )

I am available for commission work, though the time frame required to finish a piece might be increased depending on school assignments. (College reading assignments are not my cup of tea.) Mediums I am familiar with include: colored pencil, acrylic, oil, digital art, ink, and charcoal. I am also entering the realm of watercolor and I am slightly experienced with clay.

Commission prices depend on subject matter, size, and framing/matting. If you would like to discuss a possible commission piece, please contact me at Kaydeelane@live.com .
